going to and from airport

What is the best way to get to and from the Charlottesville airport at Thanksgiving break? Is there a shuttle of any sort or is the best bet a taxi?

get someone to drive you. shouldn't be too hard to find someone.

a lot of people are out of state students and dont have that "someone"

That's the case with us...And first years don't know too many with cars.

I wish i could help, but im not from Virginia...hopefully someone here can answer your question. I want to know about it as well :)

There is no shuttle, so if you don't know "someone" then you'll need a taxi.

The law school has a website for new students that I find very useful. Here's their page about getting to and from the airport.

It looks like the Van on the Go shuttle is pretty easy, but it's only a 10 mile trip, so maybe a cab isn't too much when divided between a few people.

There used to be a ride board, but one of my student workers said that it's not being used very much anymore.

Thanks, Dean J. I'm surprised there isn't a similar link on the UVA Parents' page.

I'm surprised the school doesnt have a shuttle! lol even ucla does!

Usually the larger the airport the more likely there is convenient transportation. Try Richmond.

Another options: fly out of a DC airport. The Home Ride shuttle goes from UVA to the Vienna metro station, which is on the orange line. For National, switch to the blue line at Roslyn. For Dulles, pick up the Dulles bus at Roslyn.

After reading all that, it's probably much easier, faster and cheaper to just take a shuttle to the Charlottesville airport. :)
