I currently go to a Cal State School, and I really want to transfer because I don't like it here. So I'm planning on going to a CC next semester so I can transfer to a UC school more easily. I want to transfer to UCLA (my first choice), UCD, CAL, UCSB, or UCI.

I currently have a 3.5 GPA this semester and am taking:
English 101
Biology 171
Precalculus 125

Will any of those classes count and be transferred over for my completion at a CC? Or was this semester at CSU wasted?

Also, do you guys have any suggestions on what to do to get accepted into UCLA? Should I take the honors program at CC? How many classes do I need to take at a CC?

It's extremely hard to get into a UC from a CSU, but if you make sure you cite compelling reasons for your transfer, you have a shot. For example, I talked specifically about the research I wanted to be involved in and the classes I would like to take, both of which were not present at my CSU, etc.

Also, your courses will most likely transfer, however, i believe once you have attended a 4 year you do not get the same priority as someone who has never attended a 4 year univeristy.

If you have been at CSU for only 1 semester, then you shouldn't apply as a transfer to a UC at the moment, unless you are happy with your high school stats.
