Just wondering what is there to do when classes start on the 24 of sept?

Those days are called “Welcome Week”, and your RAs will have a calendar of activities for you to do. It looks like the schedule will be posted here when finalized:

Here’s an archived version I found, you can click around the dates to get an idea of what it’s like:

On your downtime, I suggest exploring the campus, checking out “downtown” Isla Vista (Pardall St.), taking a break on the beach, head to the Camino Real Marketplace to pick up any dorm essentials you forgot to pack, and even check out some parties on Del Playa Drive. Also, there will be a pre-season men’s soccer match with UCSB playing Mexico’s U-17 National Team on September 22nd, with the regular Fall Quarter games starting Sunday the 27th against UC Irvine! Be sure to attend these with your dorm buddies (games are free and very popular at UCSB).

If you are interested try rushing a fraternity or a sorority. UCSB has a great greek system you should check it out:)
