How young is too young to be on this site (and why)?

-1 because its unhealthy to use computers before you are born.

You're never too young to join the Dark Side. :)

Anyone is too young to be on CC. It can drive you mad. :)

I clicked on this because it said babes, but I don't see any

Should it matter?

No, I guess it doesn't matter b/c if you're here, you're here.
But there are all these things nowadays about how kindergarteners are being taught about college and i wonder if that plays in here. people starting off their college search earlier on are not necessarily obsessive and there are a lot of people starting the search in junior/senior year that are out of their minds.
Just a discussion starter...

I strongly suggested that 17-yr-old D NOT get involved here.....it's way too competitive...let other people do the teeth gnashing and cut-throating.... I, on the other hand, am addicted. She spends enough time on facebook, AIM, and playing hearts and spades with her friends that she doesn't have time for a CC addiction.

Well I'm 14, if that is such a big deal. Not that it matters. I just got into this site a few months ago...

I don't think it matters how old someone should be to be on this site because anyone can be concerned about their future.

^But sould a 7th grader really be posting a What Are My Chances thread? Not that it's happened, but there's a first time for everything.

7th graders should be posting what are my chances in the prep school admission forum...

I joined when I was 14 and had been lurking for atleast a year before. I was looking as going to prep school then. I kind of wish I had gone. I think if I don't stop this ramble then I'm going to start reflecting on all the things I should have done but didn't.

Well, I guess 9th grade might be a nice time to join. Despite what people say, starting at this point, looking at relevant information and making an informed college choice when you can actually do something about it is a good thing.

That does not mean you should plan out your life or do ECs just to make a list, or get obsessed about winning national competitions. It means you should take into fact what you might face along the way and whether the college you are interested in is appropriate for your needs. It would give you a better perspective than the hordes of over zealous parents that scream "Harvard!" even when they do not know what state it is in.(Or think that Stanford is an Ivy League on the east coast)

I personally believe junior or senior year is too late and only good for the chances thread.

Edit: Where are the "mouths" of babes?

Chill out with college planning. Most people I know didn't start the process until the end of sophomore year.

Um I didn't start thinking about college until the summer between junior and senior year. Admittedly, that was a little late...but if you are freaking out about your college options in the ninth grade, you need counseling, not a message board.

"Edit: Where are the "mouths" of babes?"
On their faces, duh...lol...

But I agree that obsessively joining CC and logically planning on CC are different things and should be considered differently.
I definitely wasn't thinking about college before sophomore year but when college fever hit, it was pretty hard to get rid of. Sometimes its hard to keep things in perspective.
Not that CC will help...lol...

im a freshyy but i dont really get too much into the college sections.
i mostly just stay into the high school + cafe sections.. because im trying not to think about college right now.. just trying to concentrate on having fun while i can!
