Anyone have any ideas as to who's playing at the concert during orientation week? The SSMU letter said it would be the biggest concert held at McGill in a very long time. I'm thinking possibly (just a hunch) that the Arcade Fire might be involved since they're from Montreal and one of the members is a McGill grad. but it may just be wishful thinking.

Green Day! well, they are playing September 5th there.

if it was green day.. that would be insane!

I would need a change of panties if it were green day. i remember my first day of elementary school, I had just moved, I was scared as ****, singing green day to myself, and I made my first friend because he liked green day too. It would be funny to have green day make me friends again. indirectly of course. However its highly unlikely that it would be them. They are playing on the 4th and they have shows in nj and boston and what not between ssmu frosh and their concert, its not like they are just chillin in montreal. either way, it'll be fun.

Yes, what I meant by September 5th.. was September 4th... i mean, i should know, I have tickets.

And the green day thing was just wishful thinking.

Tmak, dearest... I know you would love to take me on a date. insert eyelash batting here

soitstorms, baby, there are still tickets on sale online. smooth smile

But I do know a girl who will become very popular during frosh. She bought two tickets. ;)

Tmak, love, it is because of you that I now have tickets.
For those of you who need them, dont get them off just any site, you'll end up paying upwards of $100 american when you can get them for $45 cad (+ shipping and handling, but thats cheaper than the other places as well)

hehe thank goodness the day after is labor day... just speaking for those of us who have early morning calculus classes! ;)
depending on how late we get home, we should see if we can all have breakfast together hehe

hey, i don't have classes the day after labour day anyhow. We should designate the day as an after green day party night and stay out til the break of dawn. sounds like it will be an awesome concert

and as for the frosh concert, which this thread is actually about, I would think that Arcade Fire playing there is virtually a certainty, as the timing coincides with the release of their newest album, which comes out in the fall.

However, I may not be able to even attend the frosh concert, as it says on the SSMU letter that I have to be of legal drinking age to attend.

The whole "need to be of drinking age" seems like a crock of ****, considering the entire frosh week is just drinking. I mean, will people actually be carding us? Come on, I thought this was Canada.

It sucks to be a minor.

I do concur.

meh, i know there are places there that you can get a fake ID for $30 CAD. I mean, its not too hard, but I'll only be using it for frosh week and perhaps once or twice if i get carded before my birthday in a month and a half.. it might be useful for when I go back home where the legal age is 19 though.

I heard that although I won't turn 18 until November, I should'nt worry because no one really cards you unless you look like you're 12 (which I don't, I think.) Can anyone confirm/deny this? I mean, when I went there in April I was offered alcohol.

I will affirm that they don't card you very much, unless of course you look like you're 12. What is this SSMU letter that we're all referring to? is it the one about frosh? I haven't read it through carefully yet. I can't wait! 2 weeks, my friends!

thats right, 2 weeks!! they'll pass in a flash!!

about the idea that the arcade fire will play ... i was sooooo excited to hear that but then when i was on their official site it says that they're touring and they are in leeds that day ... so our dreams are shattered (well ... you know what I mean :P)

Meh, thats just a front! Leeds is going to be dissapointed. :P
