Fry Scholarship Questions

Hi, I had a few questions about the Fry Scholarship.

Firstly, I have received a few other scholarships from IU and I am wondering how that will couple with the Fry Scholarship, if I should get it. Will Fry cover the remainder of my cost of attendance? I.E. I have $16,000 in scholarships, will Fry cover the remaining ~31,000? (I am OOS). The language on the website (“Supplementary aid that, with other IU administered gift aid, covers your tuition, fees, and room and board.”) seems to suggest that, but I was unsure.

Also, I was wondering if anyone who has applied for Fry has heard back yet.

Lastly, I was wondering if the Fry Scholarship goes towards the cost for books or will I have to come out of pocket for that?

Thanks!

I cannot answer any of your questions except for the penultimate one. I applied for the scholarship as well and I have not heard back. I heard a tentative date that they would release that was April. Hope that helps!

Yeah, I heard pretty much the same thing. Between now and mid April is what I was told. Figured some may have heard back though. Thanks for the reply!

It would be lovely if anyone hearing back about this could post here. I am getting antsy as it appears that IUB is going to wait until April 15th to update us.

Does anyone know if IU will only contact you with good news? Will we at least receive an email saying we did not get it if that is the case? I am anxiously waiting…

@redados Yep, I still have not heard either and have not seen anyone say that they have heard either. Either way, looks like we will know in the next 2 days.

@centerport I’m assuming that they will contact us regardless. I can’t imagine that they would only contact us with good news.

Just got an e-mail saying that I didn’t get it. Oh well, the wait is over!

@redados as did I. Oh well. I was pretty set on Michigan State already anyways.

Hi guys … I too got the sad email - It’s Miami University and Farmer School of Business for me as they gave me much more in scholarship money  IU is too expensive as an OOS student for my family. Congrats to the lucky students who get good news.
