Weaknesses:

Hey, it was my safety, and I’m glad I got in with a scholarship and an invite to apply for the honors college! FSU is a great safety/affordable option to have (in-state), and it’s just a good school in general :slight_smile: I’ve now been accepted OOS public, OOS private, and in-state public!

@ally22 @Newtownunit daughter had superscore 30 on ACT and 4.25 weighted GPA (3.5 unweighted I think) and got partial waiver

I guess I’m going to be the first to say this: I got rejected today, but I’m not stressing it. I’m going to reapply for the second admission in January, and if all else fails, I’ll attend FAMU or UNF :slight_smile: What I think messed me up, was the fact that I didn’t add my resume onto it or do two essays, you know for vindication. That being said, hopefully, I can get accepted NEXT go around! And to anyone else who’s lurking on the thread and got either rejected or deferred, don’t let it get you down and stay positive. Retake the SATs again, Retake the ACTs again, have both test scores, do all three essays, do a lot on your resume and so forth. That being said, so happy for everyone that got in! #NowNoles, you guys are lucky!

@frykera - What a great attitude!!! Wishing you all the best.

@tastemaker2323 I had a 3.1 (don’t know what my FSU recalculated GPA is or how to even view that) and a 1050 on the recent SAT, retook it in December, hopefully gonna retry and get in next go around. Summer should be fun! Less congested, you know :smiley:

if u don’t mind, can u report whether you got accepted or not? we have similar stats.

If you didn’t receive the Freshman Scholarship on your portal, you most likely won’t. I haven’t heard of anyone receiving it any other way.

@bulldog25
OOS Tuition waver means that you are out of state, which is a higher amount of tuition. The waiver (depending on if it’s partial or full) gives you in state tuition.

the Freshman Scholarship is an extra $1,200 each semester for up to eight semesters. I’m not sure what you’re asking as far as “cost of attendance”? It’s a scholarship, so you don’t have to pay it back. Basically you start with a $1,200+ balance in your account every semester

@ibox505 I didn’t get accepted, actually. they like, recommended me TCC, but when I applied for the Summer Term, they put me in the Fall Term, but now it says Summer term on my application now, so idek

I got accepted. I wasn’t super surprised, but it feels good.

@rs1121 that confidence tho :smiley:

pg96fsu - thank you for answering. I don’t have numbers in front of me as far as what tuition costs actually are at FSU, just trying to figure the actual cost after scholarships will be for him but I can look that up when I get home.

Ooh thank you. You definitely have good extracurricular qualifications so keep your hopes up! Hopefully you get in for Round 2!

So I too will come out for those that cant…after the initial shock… but my D17 was rejected… :frowning:
Well rounded kid and I hurt for her

she has a 4.7 GPA… honors and ap classes… 7th out of 175 kids … 4 on an AP exam…
. a super strong resume of nhs, community service volunteer work and extracurricular activities… leadership in many school activities and captain of 2 sports teams.

We are OOS
She got an 1120 on her new sat… which was an improvement from the first time… I sent her to a prep class that’s what she could do with it…

I called because I believed that they reviewed admissions on a holistic approach… flat out was told her standardized test score was the reason for a denial. I don’t have money to send her back to a prep class.

Very disappointed but she will end up where she needs to be…we did get an acceptance so we know that we have options … sighhh

Good luck to you all :slight_smile:

sorry @mykidscheer :frowning: so much for schools moving away from putting so much weight on test scores.

Status: Rejected

GPA (Unweighted): 3.1
FSU GPA: I guess around a … 3.5?
SAT(New): 1050, retook Dec. 3 for a better scores :smiley:

Stats:

-Took honors classes all my life
-Grandma passed away, so GPA dropped from a 3.5 Freshman year to a 2.4 sophomore year, raised it to a 3.1 Junior year though!
-Currently taking AP Lit and AP Psychology, because those are the only ones offered at my school
-Leadership in JROTC as a Sergeant First Class
-Editor & Chief of Yearbook and Journalism Club
-Was at one point in the Gifted program during my elementary school days, not sure if that counts

I’m honestly not upset, however, I was a bit confused as to why I got my application put into the Fall term, when I checked for it to be in Summer term, figuring I would be accepted for that term and I wanted to start for the summer anyway, but all is well, haha. Forgot to submit my resume and two essays, but again, all is well! Hopefully, I get in for Round 2! Anyone who was rejected, don’t feel bad! There’s still time and hope to get your grades, gpa, and test scores up for the first semester :slight_smile:

@mykidscheer my friend had a 4.8 and a 2400 on the old SAT and they flat out denied him and didn’t tell him why.

Sooooo happy for my D
