Hey guys,

I noticed a 5$ fee listed on my account statement apparently having something to do with the FSUCard. I'm still using my one from last year, and I'm just curious what it's being used for. All of my friends have the same charge. Is this a recurring charge every year?

Yep its a recurring charge and it came into effect last year.

New Annual Student Card Fee

The FSU Board of Trustees has approved an annual $10 student card fee to be implemented beginning Spring semester 2008.

It will be billed as an Annual Card Fee to students tuition as $5.00 for the Spring semester and $5.00 for the Fall semester.

This fee will allow for the improvement and expansion the FSUCard Program, enhancement of card technology on campus and continuance of popular services, such as the publication of the free Milestone academic planner.

Just seems like another extra unnecessary fee to me. Like the technology fee. But whatever, I can’t complain because FSU’s cheap as dirt anyways.

yea i noticed all these extra fees like “technology” and “transportation access”

i think its very ridiculous to have all these charges

Then utilize your community college.

then utilize the programs, ride the bus campus loop (renegade) or use a computer lab. Its all available to you. Just like how you’re paying for a lot of things you will never use. EX: you can get free psychiatric counseling at Thagard if you choose. Most people never use half of what they pay for (gym, career center are the most under-used.)

Besides you can’t really complain, FSU is dirt cheap for the great education you get there
