I am currently in community college and I know Florida State Film program is hard to get into. I really don't know how much experience I need to get in. I have a 3.8 gpa. I am on the deans list. I am currently in the film club. In high school, my senior year, I went to a regular school then for my third and forth period I went to a Tech school that had video production and broadcasting class. also my senior year I got the lead in my high school musical. We did the musical for our county for elementary and middle schools. it was about anti bullying. I was also on the swim team for two years in high school.
I feel like this is not enough.....any ideas on what I should do to add more to my resume?

For FSU, you apply as a freshman; they only take a handful of transfers/sophmores each year(like 5). They accept about 20 freshman each year. You say you are at community college now. Would you still be applying as a freshman? The kids get accepted as freshman, do their normal liberal arts stuff for first year, and then start the film program sophmore year for 7 consectutive semesters including summers; nothing else, no other classes, period. Look on FSU website for all details. If you will be applying in October for freshman, you would get into FSU first(separate application from film); if accepted to FSU, you would start there as freshman either summer of 2014 or fall of 2014 and wouldn’t start film program until fall of 2015. If this timeline is what you were expecting, I can then tell you what I think is most beneficial for getting in as my son was accepted last year and is freshman there now.

Forgot to ask. Are you applying for undergraduate program or graduate? If for MFA, then I’m not sure. My son is in undergraduate production program. BFA.
