FSU or UCF?

Which school is better/more highly regarded for English and Philosophy? AND IN GENERAL? I plan to attend grad school, and I want to go to the more well regarded institution. Thank you!

As a side note, I plan to go to either's honor college. I also received the $9,600 from FSU.

My brother went to fsu and I live in Orlando and I would say fsu is way better. Education wise fsu is very good and my brother got a job right when he graduated. I tend to think the academics are better at fsu. I also think campus life at fsu is better than ucf. Fsu has more of a community feel than ucf and my brother loved it. I know this isn’t very detailed but I definitely say fsu. But I can try to help with questions if needed :)

Florida State easily for both.

Note also FSU has a much better student-faculty ratio. If it is so much harder to work closely with faculty, why attend?

Student-Faculty Ratio
FSU: 22 to 1
UCF 31 to 1

Parent2noles is soo right!
I have one at UCF and one at FSU right now. Love the modern campus and things to do around the Orlando area, but not a traditional feel or tight knit student body by any means. Academically, FSU has it hands down in the departments in which you are interested, and I can tell you that the daughter at FSU has a much easier time getting help from faculty due to the smaller, more personalized classes. Of course, some of the GenEds are still large, but all in all, it is a better education at FSU. The selection of off campus apartments are also MUCH nicer than the ones around UCF. The administration seems to have it more together as well. That’s just our personal experience, though.

can only add that my son is very happy at FSU. He likes the compact campus with it’s more traditional look. He has friends at UCF and visited them one weekend. That made him even more happy he’s at FSU. It was UCF’s homecoming and he said there was no spirit at all, most of the students were not aware of a parade, it was not a cohesive college feel. At FSU he has had good access to professors…FSU seems very student oriented.

there is an extra 18,000 kids at ucf. If you decide t go to ucf youll be a numb.er If you go to fsu you wont be a number and youll be getting your moneys worth. thats all the imput i got =)
