Does anybody know what FSU looks at most in an applicant?
Look up the Common Data Set, section C7.
Wheres that?
Just google FSU Common Data Set, Section C has data for incoming Freshman. You will see they value GPA and rigor of courses
You can also google FSU Freshman Profile to see the average of admitted students.
Read through both of those sites and you will gleam a lot.
Thank you
The big 3 stats are obviously GPA, course rigor, and SAT/ACT test scores. The biggest factors by far to FSU are GPA and course rigor; SAT/ACT play a smaller role, though they are still important of course.
For a large portion of applicants, those 3 factors will be all FSU even needs to make an admission decision. For others they’ll maybe read the essay or factor in extra-curriculars.
However, I believe that the average at FSU is something like only 1 in about 100 applicants actually have their essay read by an admissions officer (I think).
I thought the admissions essay was optional?
Just some advice…pretend the word “optional” does not exist on college applications!
Ok
