Hello there!

I have been accepted into the Smeal College of Business for Fall 2011. I wanted to know the deadline for the FTCAP tests. I haven't given them as yet. Unlike other people who received emails/postcard from PSU regarding these tests, I haven't gotten any notifcation. However, I am able to log in into the official FTCAP test website with my PSU ID.

Help please :)

Basically you need to log in and take the test before you will get a post card. The post card will tell you when your advising day is, not when to take the tests. In order to go to advising day, and have they tell you anything useful, you need to have taken the tests already.

Don’t worry, they’re like pulling off a band-aid, the sooner you do it, the less it hurts. And once the tests are done, all the interesting stuff begins (scheduling classes, etc.)

Also, if you do it sooner and get an earlier FTCAP date you’ll get to register earlier and maybe not get stuck with the 8 a.m. classes. :)

Hi PeachesOMG93, It depends on when did you accepted the admission offer & paid the deposit. Then they will send you the postcard. The postcard will have an “online activities dealine:”. What that mean is you need to complete FTCAP Step1-Survey & Step2-Test(Eng,Math,Chem) on-line by that date. Try this wedsite: dus.psu.edu/ftcap . The wesite will have the steps in details. Step1-Survey takes about 15 mins, multi-choices Qs. on General information, what Majors, why choose that major, hr study/week etc. Step2-Test. You can do this part at a seperate time. As this part will take about 3 hrs. Each Test is timed. So make sure you find a quite place to do it and you hv to complete them all in one go. (before you start step 2, make sure you go the the FTCAP website read the FAQs, and understand under emergency situation or your connect is dropped how to stop the timer on the test). After you completed Step1 & Step2…then they will notify you of your scheduled Advising Day (to complete Step3&4:Consulting&Advising) on campus meeting your adviser, get your ID cards & schedule classes etc. Also FTCAP website has the details on those 3 tests (and has a sample math test as well). If you hv accepted the offer and paid your deposit awhile back I would call the FTCAP office to check and make sure you did not missed your on-line deadline date. GOOD LUCK.

Thanks for the help everyone :D
