Full Classes

I am a transfer student so i don’t have block scheduling. I have been looking at the classes that i need to take in order to graduate on time and they are all full already, I can’t register until August 16 which is the soar date for transfers. Anyone knows what are the chances on getting in a class if you are waitlisted? Or did they reserve room for transfer students because that’s what i heard they do in UC’s… I am not a big fan of all these budget cuts

Yeah the budget cuts really suck…but your best way of getting into classes is to get onton waitlists and don’t get off them. You want to keep your chances higher of getting into classes and if you can’t get into one off a waitlist, you may be able to get into another by being on the list. Large lecture classes generally admit more waitlisters/crashers than small classes do. Most teachers will allow at least a few students from the waitlist in. Also, don’t be discouraged if you are high on the waitlist as many people on the list don’t try to get in. you can also try emailing teachers before classes start

I do remember one person at SOAR mentioning that they save some spots for transfer students. I hope so! How are they already full? Only freshmen have been given classes right? That stinks and I hope it works out for you. The waitlist sounds like the way to go, but that can be pretty nervewracking waiting to see if you get in. Good luck to you.

Returning students registered for classes last spring, which is why classes are full. They must have some system in place for transfer students to register for the classes they need to graduate on time. I would call the registrar’s office. I have found them to be quite helpful.

That makes sense. Most of those classes are not the ones the freshmen need anyway. maybe some GE I suppose. I would hope that they have saved some spots for the transfer students who really need to get their classes to graduate on time.

Very funny video! I sure hope it doesn’t get as desperate as that!
