i'm currently taking full IB with all the three sciences, but before school starts i plan to drop Chemistry IB because my schedule's too full. i don't want to spend all my time on academics and i want to focus on my ECs. will this somehow affect my future college schedule (i plan to take pre-med) or will i still be granted advance standing (if available)?

It'll still depend on how you fare on your IB exams. I'm not sure if you're a junior or senior, but I wouldn' recommend IB Physics, IB Chemistry, and IB Biology all at once, especially if you're doing HL for more than 1. Some people at my school couldn't get their diplomas, because even if they did well on SL exams, they never received the required points on the HLs.

Difficulty of IB classes still differ a bit from school to school, but at mine, I've done IB Phyics HL and IB Chem HL at once, and I would have to say the combination gave me a taste of hell.

well, at our school, many people take all 3 sciences, world history, english, math, and french IB. Although we don't have 2 sciences as HL, I don't think having all 3 sciences is gonna take time away from you. For one thing, chemistry and physics don't take much actual studying time besides time spent on labs if you listen attentively in class. Also having 3 sciences can help you in the college if you suddenly change your mind and decide to go into a different field than you were planning to go to.

It
s not impossible, but I wouldn
t recommend it .It
s just too much. But I guess it also depends on what your other HLs are and how good you are in science.
I was also debating over whether or not to do 3 sciences, but I decided not too as I am doing 4 HLs, and doing an extra certificate would be too much. I
m doing Chem and Bio at HL.
People rarely do all 3 sciences, so I don`t think it will affect your college admissions in anyway, as long as you took Chemistry course in 9th or 10th grade. However, I would suggest you drop Bio in stead of Chem, as Chem and Physics complement eachother (although this is only my opinion so I would talk with you GC)

Doing all three where more than 2/3 are SL compared to three sciences which 2/3 are HL are completely different in level of difficulty/time consumption.

At my old school (very very college-focused), I know at least 4 people who are taking IB Chemistry SL, IB Physics HL, and IB Biology HL. If you want their contact info, send me a PM.`
