With college tuitions at or approaching $50K, I thought it would be helpful to know first-hand from full-pay students and/or their parents, whether they think the education and experience they or their S/D is receiving is worth the $$. Please share your opinions about your college, and why or why not it is worth its price tag. Thank you in advance.

Is it not implicit that the people paying full freight at a private college find it worth the $$? If they did not find it worth the $$, there are many other options for them; flagship state U, less competitive privates where they could get merit aid, etc.

^ People sometimes change their opinion on a purchase once they experience it. For example, an expensive private (or top public!) education might have seemed worth it when accepted, but after graduation it might lose its pizazz.

Yes, there have been some past postings here on CC from parents who were once boastfully overjoyed that their Johnny or Mary got accepted to (full-freight) highly-ranked pricey private. But, then, after paying for a semester or two, they’ve had some second thoughts (after that initial glow had worn off.)
