Did anyone get one of the 40? Please share...

wait,,, is $40k the maximum u can get?? like is that the "full scholarship"??? coz i've got $40,000 and my parents contribution is still $10k..

Poor you...

I think he meant that only 40 people get full ride scholarships.

was that sarcasm andrew? i have a reputation for taking things literally.

There's a difference between merit scholarships and financial aid. (Though some scholarships at some schools are based on financial need.) I think the poster is referring to full merit scholarships (that are not based on financial need.)

hmmm i've got one of those merit scholarships,,, i havent received my updated financial aid package yet........ hope we dont have to pay the $10k, which is a huge amount for us

hey hass, not to antagonize you or anything, but when you've received such a huge merit scholarship to an amazing private university and you are only paying $10,000 a year, its kind of angering to see you complain about it, and be so cocky about it. especially when there are people like me out here trying to figure out whether it is worth to sacrifice their school of choice (Duke) for a cheaper school. if your family cant pay it, duke would know that and do something about your financial aid...try to appeal if you sooo have to.

Jeez guys, be nice! For some people $10K is a lot of money. Have some sympathy for those less fortunate. Hass hasn't said anything cocky at all. In fact you people are the cocky ones...
