Full-time California Community College question

Hey everyone, I just had a quick question about what it means to be a full-time community college student. I just have to enroll in 12 units per quarter to be an eligible full-time student right? If I was to take 3 classes, which are 4 units each, and ended up getting a W and only getting 2 classes with a grade, does that mean I only took 8 units that quarter instead of 12? I’m just a bit confused, any type of response would help at this point because I’m pretty much panicking I might get my TAG rescinded.

Yes, if you dropped 1 class of 4 units, then you would be under the 12 unit minimum and not full time. If you are on financial aid and you are required to attend Full time, then you need to find another 4 unit class or your FA will be reduced.

@Gumbymom I’m not on financial aid or anything, but I had 2 W’s in my fall & winter 2017 quarters, which means that I only completed 8-9 units each that quarter. I completed 12 units in spring 2017 though, does this mean my TAG for 2018 is going to be rescinded? I completed over 45 uc transferable units and every other requirement.

Only UC Davis requires you are a full time CC student from Spring 2017-Spring 2018. The rest of the UC’s do not have this TAG requirement. Will you have 60 semester units completed by Spring 2018??

@Gumbymom Oh I didn’t notice that and yeah most definitely. I’m at 74.5 quarter units right now.
