Yale is obviously a fantastic school with so much to offer. Yalies, do you also have a good social life? High school has been such a grind that while I want to work hard in college, of course, I don't want to have to work 24/7 with no social life (like in high school).

It's not that I couldn't have a social life in high school, it's just that my school is so competitive that anyone wanting to go to Yale or any other top school didn't have time to do much else than study, ECs, sports, summer work, etc.

Yale is definitely the right place for someone with that attitude! Though in high school I doubt I actually worked myself that hard, I came to Yale with the attitude that I would never again do something for resume padding; that I would never again do an activity that I didn't really enjoy.

Yale's social environment is fantastic, and nearly everyone here is happy in general. There will probably be times you feel overworked (finals or if you have 3 papers due in a week), but for the most part Yale is about the most relaxed environment possible for a place with such intellectual vitality.
