in HS, i never did any clubs besides honor society (the clubs at my school were either really lame, or filled with people who did them just for there apps)
all i did for EC was pretty much Bball

what are some fun clubs to join for college?

For sports and activities, the most popular game these days seems to be Ultimate Frisbee. If you don't know how to play it, by all means learn because you'll be in the minority if you don't know how to play it. It's pretty fun, gives you some decent exercise, and helps you meet people.

As for clubs, do you like politics? Most schools have a republican and a democrat club. There are also usually Bible study clubs (my school has both a Catholic and Protestant one). I'm sure there's clubs for Jewish and Muslim folks as well.

I was not involved at all last semester. Next semester I will be joining the Protestant Bible Study and I have thought of going through student activities to get a video club for non-communications students started. I was in a video club in high school and it was always fun.

Finally, if you are going to commute, you can always join non-college sponsored activities around your city. I am in three bands, one choir, and a Mac users group.

political clubs/organizations likely campaign for voters, hold rallies, try to get people to register to vote, get speakers to come to campus and voice their opinion in any (and every) way possible

In my experience, Democrats do that and Republicans complain about the Democrats doing that "oh those liberals putting on another protest if they hate this country so much why don't they move to Cuba"

Sometimes the political clubs hold debates. At my high school, we had three debates between the two clubs over the course of the year. I'm sure colleges would have the same type of thing if people were interested and they could find a good moderator.

There should be clubs for people who refuse to call themselves a democrat or a republican, because it is just perpetuating the 2 party system and eliminates free thinking.

I've been dancing (ballet/modern) for nearly 14 years, and I'm going to keep going with those, but I'm also really excited to start doing some swing/salsa/ballroom dance too!
