Hi everyone, although I'm a junior I've been putting a lot of thought into my common app essay and even wrote up a draft. It's really funny and entertaining and I think it shows off a lot of my good qualities as well as growth. However, it's not exactly about a profound event- it's pretty ordinary and something a lot of teenagers deal with (although I doubt a lot of them write their essays about it). My transcripts and activities already show that I'm an intelligent, leader-like student. I want to have an essay that stands out, makes me sound relatable and fun, and perhaps brings a smile to the faces of the tired admissions officer. However, I don't want them to think I'm silly or lack values or something. What do you all think?

What is it about?

Learning to ride a bike.
