FY Seminar help please

My D is traveling and forwarded this e-mail to me...before she left, she registered, and did include a FY Seminar in her schedule.

Did anyone else receive this e-mail (there are dozens of names attached) who DID register for a seminar in the fall...

I am writing to you because I see that you are not registered for a first year seminar. First year seminars are not required but they are highly recommended. I am including a list of first year seminars below that still have open seats in them. You can register yourself into anyone of these seminars through ISIS. If you have not finalized your schedule yet I would encourage you to register for one of these seminars. If you have any problems with ISIS or questions, please feel free to write to Lori Widmer in our office. She would be more than happy to help you. If you would prefer to call and talk to Lori, please call (413) 538-2025.

The First Year seminars that have open seats include:

Biology 145, Introductory Biology
Econ-100-02, Economics of Education
Flmst-101, Film and History
Geol-115, Convergence of Geologic Time
Gndst-119, Women's Public Voices
Medst-101-01, Picturing the Middle Ages
Soci-103, Intellect/Media/Public Sphere
Span-105, Modern Latam Women Writers
Theat-150, What is Performance?
Res-151-02, Crown Jewels

Sincerely,

Donna Delisle-Mitchell
Associate Registrar

Which FY-Sem did she include?

I registered for a first year sem and I did not receive that email (I actually contacted my prof. about the class, so maybe that's why?, but nobody else I know received it either)... maybe she thought she registered, but she didn't. Economics of education looks good, so if she wants something interesting, that should be great.

My D asked me to call the school to verify, and indeed, she is registered, and they do show her with a FY Seminar. So for whatever reason the e-mail came, she may now disregard it.

BTW: she chose the Film and History seminar. It's right up her alley.

Thanks!

Yes, that makes sense. My professor claimed I wasn't registered for my FY-Sem, so I had to go through an entire process to prove it... verify it via ISIS, etc. It was... hell.

Awesome about film and history!

And no problem. :)
