GA Tech Admission

Well, first off, I'm in the process of applying to GA Tech.
I realize the final deadline is Jan 15, and yeah, it's creeping up.
(Is there like a statistic of how many people that wait till like almost deadline to submit that get accepted?)

Stats:
GPA: 4.24 (weighted) 3.8 (nonweighted)

SAT: Math - 650
Reading - 630
Writing - 570

Rank : 6/196 (was top 5 all three years but my grade in chemistry....cries)

Clubs: President of TSA
Member - BETA, NHS, SkillsUSA, I do all the Tech crap in my school

Recognitions: I'm printED certified, regions winner of skillsUSA,

Science is usually good (currently 96 in physics honors, no AP was offered)
I do really well in governemnt in economics, aced all social studies classes.

AP: Passed US History with a 3
Passed Language with a 3
I'm sure I'll pass AP Calculus

And does anyone wanna help me with my essay? lol

Anyone? Help?
My chances?

and if any alumni or already students at Tech wanna review my essay, plz contact me or post ,

much appreciated

Typically people post this stuff in the college-specific forums (see forum list under alphabetical list of colleges).

Since you're from Georgia, I'll say you have a 50% chance. Your GPA is good but your test scores are all 25th %-ile for GT (those 2 are the most important for admissions but being in-state counts for something).

oh, wow well that sucks >.> 50% is less then the average 60% that they have posted on their site.

Will the essay really help me?

I am accepted to G Tech already. Here are my stats if you want to compare.

GPA-4.0 UW
Rank-2/237
APs- All offered except one.
ACT- English 28, Math-34
ECs- Pretty good, 2 leadership positions, many minor participation, babysitting my cousin and working for my parents 30h/w.

Essay- Worst part of my application... It wasn't that bad, but it's no way good.

I guess if your essays is great then it can make up a little for your test scores.
I have no idea how I got in though. I thought the essay would've killed me(began my application few days before it was due)

Your rank and GPA is really good, and i think 34 is pretty REALLY good for act math right?

Yeah since you're accepted, you wanna see if my essay (at least the first paragraph ) is ok?

My ACT is no way good so I think you will do fine since they take over 60% of the applicants and your are in-state which I am not.

I don't think I can help any lol..... I struggled with my essay haha. BTW, I think mine was off topic too???

34 is like 700+ I think??

Hey what do you know, my chemistry grade screwed me too (only B in high school, got 100 in chemistry and 86 in AP.)

anyway I got accepted into tech. 33 English 34 Math (32 composite), very similar rank. I would say you have average chance. Your essay might be the tipping factor. I will look at it if you want me to.

ur in. If not, then ur essay must've been horrible and/or ur SATs being slightly low.

well, 1/4 of the people admitted into Tech has my reading and writing sat scores im in the 50% with math
