Do you think I could get into GA Tech?

I am a sophomore at a high school in GA and I am freaking out about this fall semester, it's the worst I've done in my entire academic career.

All the GPAs are weighted, since Tech now looks at the scores your high school sends, and the transcript that my HS sends is weighted.
So far,

Freshman Year:
GPA: 98.4 -- All A's both semesters
Classes: Bio H, Geometry H, Spanish 2 H, Engineering, Lit H, AP Government
Extracurriculars: Science Olympiad, HOSA(placed at regionals and state), Student Leadership Program(in the community), Student Council, Technology Fair- 2nd in State, policy debate, Toshiba Exploravision, Beta

Sophomore Year:
GPA: First semester: 94.5 //// I am definitely going to step up my game this semester; I received 3 B's and 3 A's this semester, but weighted, they are all As(since Tech looks at weighted)
Classes: AP Comp Sci, AP World History, Spanish 3 H, Lit H, Precal H, Chem H
EC: HOSA, Student Leadership Program(in the community), Student Council, YNC(Youth for National Change interest group- State Director of Communications), Northside Hospital Explorers(looking to pursue an internship at the end of the program), policy debate, Beta, GHP nominee for state

I am looking to take 5 APs Junior Year, and 5 Senior Year, along with the ECs I hope to gain at least 2 internships by the end of Junior Year.

I am also taking SAT classes, so my score(based on PSAT and SAT) should be more than 2000.

Thank you so much for helping me even though it's early, but I've been having mental breakdowns every single day of break, because literally, all I want to do is to get into Tech. Thank you once again!

Yes accepted.

I also did track in 9th grade and I plan to do track AND cross country junior and senior year(but not this year, since I should focus on my grades.

I was you 2 years ago, and I got my acceptance yesterday. By the time you apply 2000 is not enough. You need to aim for 2200+. Many people this year got defered with 2200+. If there was one thing I learned from the admissions process is that grades and test scores aren’t everything. Do good on your essay, and I think you’ll make it. Every year since 2012, the acceptance rate has went down by like 15%. So try hard.

If I were you, I would take the SAT as many times as you financially and feasibly can. Tech does he “supersized” score, so they take your best score from each subject area, not your overall best score. (Ex. You take the SAT three times, the first time you get a 0 on MAth and Reading, but 800 on Writing, second time 0 on Writing and Reading and 800 on MAth, and the third time 0 on MAth and Writing and 800 on Reading, Ga Tech considers your SAT score to be 2400, even though your highest individual score is 800). That being said, a 2000 SAT score probably wont cut it for Tech. A few years ago yes, today, possibly, two years from now… probably not. I was just deferred with a 2040 and never a B in my life (weighted average a 102.1).
But don’t get discouraged and definitely do not freak out. Freaking out doesnt help anything, I know that from experience. It sounds like you know what you’re doing, and have good potential. Just keep your grades up and get your SAT score up. And definitely don’t stop with ECs.
If you dont get in, always remember that transferring in your sophomore year is always an option!
Good luck and dont stress too much :)

I agree with Chessy18 you want to aim for a 2200 SAT( that was the average for EA this year) but more importantly, you want a good GPA. Tech weighs the GPA more in the decision because they would rather have a hard worker rather than just brainiac. I got into Georgia Tech yesterday with a 2010 SAT 3.96 UW GPA. its good that youre taking 5 APs because they look at the rigor of your courses. But dont overload yourself if you cant handle it! They also want good writers so focus on your essay.

Getting a higher SAT is a good idea, but it’s better to work on that GPA while you can, and do the best you can do in your ECs - any potential leadership positions/interesting projects you could pull together? It’d certainly help!
