So I finally realized that I think Gallatin is the place for me to be. I want to combine Sociology and Real Estate (along with a few other more minor things) together. How hard is it to transfer into Gallatin? I'm coming from Emory University. I currently have a 4.0 college GPA. How heavily are my HS credentials going to be weighted? I've got some work experience on the business side (I interned at a mortgage company over the summer, and winter break, and will again over this summer coming up). Help? Suggestions? I'm not reall sure where to begin with this.

Hi! I transferred in '08.

Gallatin LOVES transfer students. They completely understand that students might realize down the road what their true academic plans are, and Gallatin is very open to transfer students. You have a terrific GPA and if you got into Emory, I’m sure your HS stats aren’t bad at all.

If you transfer before junior year, they will look at your HS stats, but as you get closer to being a junior, they matter less.

My number one tip is that you should really NAIL the essay. Write a few drafts of it. I think there’s an additional Gallatin-only essay about why you specifically want Gallatin. Hit that essay out of the park.

I know a lot of people who transferred to Gallatin and they’re really happy with how the transfer went.

If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me. Good luck!

OK! Thank you so, so much!

I got in xoxox.

When did you apply for the Gallatin?

I sent my application in the night it was due (April 1, 2010)…woops.
