Gamecocks Beat #1 in Football!

Congrats to coach Steve Spurrier and the entire Gamecock football team for pulling off a stunning victory over number one rated Alabama! Exciting gme with a decisive final score 35-21 to end a 19 game winning streak for Bama.

South Carolina athletics has had an impressive string of accomplishments of late. Basketball team topling Kentucky, baseball team winning the college World Series, and now this historic win. Way to go!

I was just about to say… The gamecocks are on a roll with the athletics department. =D

I have a question… Do students have to pay for tickets to get into USC football games? I’ve read somewhere that there’s like a lottery or something…

No, tickets are free. You “pay” for them as part of your student fees.

It’s a great time to be a Gamecock! Beat #1 Kentucky in basketball, #1 Arizona State in baseball, won the College World Series, and beat #1 Alabama in football (all in 2010)!

Tickets are free but you have to go online during a specific 48 hour period to request them. It can be very hard for freshmen to get tickets because ‘points’ are allotted to upperclassmen. Also, you accumulate points every time you request tickets and then more if you get tickets and attend the game. The more points you have the more likely you can get a ticket. Obviously, the ‘big’ games are a lot harder to get tickets to than the lesser games.

Furman is the only game to which my son has been able to secure a student ticket. My husband and I have season tickets, so he used my ticket to attend the Alabama game last night.

I watched it from home but what a night! Here’s to hoping the chicken curse is dead :)
