The USC baseball team has made the finals of the College World Series after beating rival Clemson this past weekend.

The Gamecocks won their first game last night 7-1 against UCLA last night and are scheduled to play game two tonight.

Baseball may not hold the same profile as football, however this is one heck of an accomplishment and we extend our congratulations to the team. Good luck, you have done us proud!

Absolutely! It has been a great series. First getting past Clemson is always fun; now moving into the finals against UCLA. This is also the last College World Series to be held in Rosenblatt Stadium so this is very special.

I’d also like to point out that the Gamecocks have the highest team gpa of all the teams involved in the series and Michael Roth, outstanding pitcher, has the highest gpa on our team. Great players on the field and in the classroom!

The Gamecocks also led all of the SEC in the number of student-athletes named to the Spring Honor Academic Rolls. USC topped the list with 114, with 17 of those on the baseball team.

It’s been a great year to be a Gamecock!!! First, beating Clemson last Fall in Football, the Baseball College World Series and this week an announcement of a $30 million donation!

And don’t forget the basketball victory over Kentucky!

Yes, this team sounds like a quality one in many ways. They are dedicating this series to a young boy named Bayler who was a huge Gamecock fan and recently lost his battle with cancer.

It has been a fantastic year to be a Gamecock. From beating #6 Ole Miss in September, to beating Clemson in November, to beating #1 Kentucky in basketball, to beating Clemson TWICE en route to a national championship! It’s great to be a student at the University of South Carolina!
