Hi all!

I am an international student.

In May this year, I graduated from my high school. I applied ED to my first-choice college and was accepted. However, the admissions decision reads that my acceptance in contingent on me maintaining my academics [this was the automated acceptance mail, of course]. Since I am not enrolled in an educational institution now, I do not have any academic record since I graduated from high school. So, in my case, there has been no maintaining. My question is: How would the college judge if I am maintaining my academic records, given that I did not engage in any academic work since graduation? Does this even matter??

I dont want to withdraw all apps and then find Ive been rescinded.

Please help.

Thank you!

Don’t worry it wont harm you. Congrats on your acceptance! You have been accepted that’s all. Now relax and have some Pop Corns!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

That reply just made my day!

This is just me being nit-picky: Dont they require me to submit my latest transcript though? Will I then submit my school-leaving exam results again? Does the fact that I’ve not engaged in any academic work this year affect my acceptance in any way [though, they did know about this in my application and still gave me the acceptance]?

It is not a problem, really! As far as mid year and final reports: contact the school and explain why you are not sending them, and make sure they are ok with this.

my academic counselor sent in my mid-year report and final report with the rest of her forms. the college has all these forms already

^^ Then you are fine. No problem.

Thank you very much!

Sorry about the annoying paranoia. I tend to be that way sometimes :p

You are so fortunate to be completely done with the next nine months to relax.
What are you doing during your gap year?

Well, I had applied to the US last year and didnt make it anywhere. So I enrolled at a college in my country. Thus far, my gap year’s been spent filling out apps [which has been esp. tough because I wanted to apply as a first-year and not a transfer, and so had to get in touch with individual colleges about their policy etc]. Now, I think I might learn a foriegn language, join a dancing troupe and go visit my penfriend in Japan!

Annoying Paranoia is part of the college acceptance process, you are just on schedule. Now enjoy your success!
