Hello! I am still super pumped about being accepted to UVA! I really hope my financial aid package will allow me to attend; I'm somewhat nervous considering the new loan policy that is starting this year. Anyway, that's not why I'm making this post. I was wondering if it's possible for an admitted student to take a gap year and not have to reapply the following year? I would really love to do overseas volunteer work for a year before college, and if I'm able to afford UVA (fingers crossed), I'm just wondering if a gap year would be a possibility. This question is directed towards Dean J because I don't know if anyone else on here would be able to answer this for me.

Gap years aren’t a big deal at all. You can write to Dean Roberts to set things in motion. :)

In the future, you can reach me via my blog, twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and email. I typically don’t respond to call out threads here because I don’t check in regularly. I happened to check in a couple times today.

Thank you so much!

I do follow you on your blog a good bit! I don’t have Facebook or Twitter, so I can’t contact you through that means, and I’ve not been able to find your email address.

That’s why I’m on all those different platforms. Feel free to comment on the blog.

There have also been threads about gap years here in the UVa forum before. :)
