Gay/Lesbian Community at Uconn

<p>I am a new poster here. I am thinking about going to uconn next year in 2008, but I was not sure of the gay/Lesbian community at Uconn.</p>

<p>By this I mean how active is the community here at Uconn, and are there lots of hate crime and incidences at Storrs.</p>

<p>I would say the G/L community is strong here. There are tons of G/L clubs and organizations to get involved in. People are generally tolerant here, and I have never heard of any hate crimes while on campus.</p>

<p>Connecticut as a whole is very accepting, and we have lots of different organizations, festivals, advocacy groups, etc. that celebrate and support the queer community. UConn is no different. You will feel very welcome.</p>
