GE: Int'l Relations OR Public Policy

Hello,

I'm going to orientation next week, and obviously will register for classes then. I just wanted anybody's opinions on the two GE classes that I'm considering picking from , either Int'l Relations w/ Prof. Bender or Law and Public Policy w/ Prof. Barnes.

I have already checked the Senate Course Guide. (In fact, that was what helped me narrow down to these two choices)

I would go with Barnes, since public policy interests me more.

Sorry to change the subject, but where do you go in order to find out which GE's are available and which professor is teaching them? I know about senate course guide, but is there some listing of the various courses and teachers available online?

All classes: http://www.usc.edu/academics/classes/term_20053/

GE: http://www.usc.edu/academics/classes/term_20053/classes/si.html

I was also deciding between IR 100 and Hist 215 (business and labor). I'm currently signed up for IR but I'm still not sure.

As repeated from another thread i posted in:

"IR100 was hmmm....a decent GE. I got an A in the class so it's not too hard. Lot's of reading tho (if you do it). Only one paper. The tests are easy, as long as you can memorize material and bs. Only thing not cool about the class is that the lectures by Bender were essentially history, he never referenced to the IR book we were reading, or talked about it, that was left for the TAs. This meant that you were responsible for all the history Bender covers (cold war, vietnam, grenada, panama, sudan..etc) + the actually IR from the textbook."
