Ged

I don't know how many of you have seen my other recent post (<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/high-school-life/523656-i-might-dropping-out.html)%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/high-school-life/523656-i-might-dropping-out.html)</a> But...if you haven't and don't want to read it, here's the deal:

There's a good chance of me failing two of my classes this year, and if I do, I won't take them again. If that happens, my plan is to get a GED and go to CC for 2 years and then see about more education later.

As to admissions at the CC...If you go the GED prep program they have, you're basically guaranteed admission to the college if you pass the test. If you don't do the GED there, you have to complete 12 credits at the school and then you can be considered an actual student there.

The catch though is that since I'm only 17 and would only be out of school for a month or two before the CC year starts in August, to be eligible for a GED, I would have to get into the CC first. So, I'm thinking I should talk to the director of admissions and see what could be done about that...And my question is, if I want to write her an email, what should I put in it?

Thanks!

Dear Ms. Jones,

I would like to set up an appointment to meet with you one day this week in order to discuss the possibility of concurrent enrollment in the GED prep program and in academic courses at Perfect Community College this fall. Please let me know the most convenient time for you.

I can be reached by email at this address, or by telephone at 000-000-0000 (home) or 000-000-0000 (cell).

Sincerely,
SingDanceRunLife

Then carry your cell with you all the time and answer it the second someone from that office calls you!

Wishing you all the best.

Thanks. That's definitely helpful.
