General Ed Classes at College of Arts and Sciences?

What are the gen ed classes at the College like? Actually, what ARE they? Is it like a regular liberal arts college, where even a French major has to take math/science classes? Or can USC College students start doing credit courses for their majors freshman year?

The same GE classes are offered for EVERY school. Here's the link for the GE program. You can click on General Education on the bottom to see the descriptions of each category of GE (plus Diversity is one too).

<a href="http://www.usc.edu/dept/LAS/general_studies/Core/%5B/url%5D">http://www.usc.edu/dept/LAS/general_studies/Core/</a></p>

Basically, there will be two history type classes (one more of ancient times, one more modern). There will be two different science GEs, one about social issues, one arts and letters class (reading, basically), and one diversity.

If you click on the type of GE, it will give you a list of the different courses offered for the fall semester, and their descriptions and teachers. Then you can always go to senatecourseguide.com to check out what students think of the classes.

And yes, you can start classes for your majors as soon as you want.

:) I appreciate your descriptive reply.

No math! Hurrah!

Yeah, that's a relief to me, too. :)
