general questions about uci

<p>okay, so as i wrote in my last post on this board, i asked for my chances to get into UCI. the common answer was 20%. i guess, that's probably gonna happen. </p>

<p>however, that leaves me two questions. </p>

<p>1 - back door majors. alot of people have been telling me about the backdoor majors in every single school, such as UCD and UC Berkeley. However, I don't know what the back door major is at UCI. According to 90% of the people I asked, from UCI, stated there was definitely a backdoor major but they just don't know what it is. So my question is, do any of you know what it is? </p>

<p>2 - even if i don't get in, i am definitely not going to give up. i plan on appealing to UCI but don't really know how the appeals system works. according to an admissions counselor from UCI, UCI definitely has an appeals system (but she didn't really leave an info on how it works). so my question is, do any of you know how it works? </p>

<p>even if my grades are horrible, i am determined to get into UCI. and no, i am not going to do the community college thing until it's the last choice i can take after bleeding from fighting to get in.</p>

<li><p>dont even try to backdoor, you're just gonna get raped in the major you want to switch into. BTW, the backdoor major is electrical engineering.</p></li>
<li><p>You can only appeal if you have something new or something omitted on your app. You can't just appeal just 'because'. Senior year grades isn't a reason to appeal. Plus, if they rejected you, they rejected you for a reason.</p></li>

<p>if your grades are crap then just accept it. if you really wanted to go there then you would have studied harder in high school.</p>

<p>10% is still a huge risk to take, not to mention unethical</p>
