I have yet to start studying for the SAT. Currently I have no resources, other than the internet. I am ordering two books online tonight , and will really begin as soon as they arrive. I am just going to be studying with the prep books, and with I'll be going through the math with my tutor. Other than that, can anyone offer some general tips regarding preparation?

Right now, I'm in grade 11, living in Toronto. I will do this even though time may be running out. I'd still like to know though: how worried should I be with the test/time restraint?

I will be taking the test on June 2nd just to get a feel of what it's like. I plan on taking it after the summer, hopefully doing much better than the first time. If I am to apply to colleges at the end of this year/beginning of 2008, when should I take the SAT again so that I can have the scores all ready to be sent out? As in what month?

Take the first 3 test dates available...you really don't have much time, especially if you're taking the SAT IIs as well. Generally you want to be done with SAT's in Oct and have November as a makeup date in case your Oct score was horrible.

Thanks. I'lll be taking it in October for sure then.
A question: why do people give out two SAT scores, example: 1245/2300 when they give out their stats on this board?

The writing component of the SAT I is still relatively new and it's efficacy has yet to be established, so many colleges (right now) tend to ignore that portion and focus on the crit. reading and math sections only.
