chances for William and Mary and Boston College

-2180/1490 SATs-----if it matters i took the SAT's with zero preparation whatsoever junior year and got a 2150,,then i took it again and boosted my reading to 700 (best is 790-math 700 reading, 690 writing)
-my gpa is a 89 (we dont do 4.0s, but it would be like a 3.3 i guess, correct me if im wrong)howver guidance puts my gpa and then the highest in the grade, which this year is a 94/95)
-weighted my gpa is a 109 through junior year--it should go up cuz im taking 4 APs which carry an extra 30 automatic points with them)
-im 16/275ish (just outside top 5%) which is determined by weighted average--my rank should go up if it gets redone soon
-my school offers nothing (we got like 7 possible APs) ive taken the hardest schedule of everyone this year with 4.2 AP credits (bio is 1.2)
-i took US hitory AP last year and got a 5
-my SAT IIs are pretty bad as a result of no studying and deciding at the last minute i needed them--500 spanish 580 us history 740 math (i finished spanish 4 and us hisory junior year, and took sat IIs november of senior year so i forgot mostly everything in both)
-national honor society
-national merit scholar- commended
-4 years of spanish
-taken all honors whenever possible

-100 hours community service at underprivelaged camp
-i work ~30 hours a week
-i played soccer through 11th grade (i was named freshman MVP in a year when varsity went to the state finals; i played varsity 10th+11th
-i dropped soccer for an EMT class (which other prospects dont have and may set me apart) which is very timeconsuming and difficult
-took guitar lessons for 4 years
-i am an editor for the school paper..i review movies + music (which was my idea) i met with the owner of a local theater and got him to let me in for free after showin him the paper

my weak points are SAT IIs and GPA--(mainly cuz im a bigtime slacker) that may be said in my letters of rec. i thik my teachers will say something like i have the potential to be a godly but i only try if something interests me...I still do good in their classes just dont do homework---i am known as the smartest kid in the grade--the only kids ahead of me literally study all weekend...

so i might have letters of rec. that are all over the place but my essays are very good

i would love to go to W&M and BC..what are my chances there--i consider them like match schools and i feel i got like an 80% at both

im also applying to UCONN ITHACA colgate as safetys..BU as another match...and yale chicago and brown as reaches--i know i got very little shot at yale and brown but i think ill be regret it if i dont

so what are my chances at the bove schools --mainly W&M nd BC..ill chance u back if u want....THANKS!!!

I'd say you have a chance at W&M, and probably a better one at BC. You're right that Yale and Brown are very long shots. Chicago is still a reach but a little bit more of a possibility...
I think you've got a good list.

lol everyone ive asked only goes so far to say i got a chance at WM..am i probably in or out

You're right on the bubble, but I'd say in.

thanks!!
bump

anyone else?

If your instate then i would say in but if not then probably high math (probably in aswell but a little tougher)

thanks for the vote of confidence...

bumpppp

yea idk bc is tought same with wm...id say fine for wm maybe not bc, it doesnt sound like ur school is competitive if an 89 avg gets you 16th in class

the top half is pretty competitve..its just that rank is determined solely by weight...i have taken honors whenever possible and have the most ap's of any senior this year so thats why im high...so pretty much only ap takers are ranked highly

yea im just saying im in a class of 420, i have a 96 unweighted and im 46 lol

lol val at my school has 95 unweighted

Ithaca is a good match. have you visited?

Good luck!

thanks but what exactly is match..i was under the impression that it means a school you have a decent shot at but might get rejected...if thats the case, i am way qualified for ithaca...my sats are damn near double their averages and my course rigor would make me an unparalled candidate...ithaca is my safety and i put my chances at 99% of getting in
