Hi guys! So currently I’m trying to decide on a college to go to for undergrad, and I’m currently torn between SUNY Geneseo and SUNY New Paltz. I’m planning on majoring in Communications. I’d really love to work in advertising on my career path down the road. Which school do you think has the stronger Communicaitons program?
I’ve attended the Communications information sessions at both colleges, and I feel that New Paltz offers a more focused program for what I’d like to go into ( if I choose New Paltz, I will most likely study in their Public Relations concentraiton), plus I feel like I’d have many more internship and job opportunities, since many students are able to easily commute to New York. I’ve heard that it’s harder to travel out of Geneseo for internships, especially if you don’t drive a car, even though Rochester’s fairly close by.
What do you think? Have you’ve studied Communicaitons at either of these schools, and what was your experience like? I’m just trying to get a better feel for the Communications departments of each school. Thanks!
