Geneseo vs. Albany

I am an international student planning to enter as a freshman. I am taking either computer science or computer engineering. Which is better? Geneseo or Albany?
P.S: I don't care much for parties. I am the kind who prefers to sit at home and read xD

Geneseo is considered a more competitive and (for lack of a better word) intellectual school. Albany has a reputation as a school with good parties whereas Geneseo is a little more… nerdy? However, I’m sure there are many people at Albany who have no interest in partying, and it’s known for being pretty high-tech. Their nanoscale science and engineering program is very well-known, so maybe it’s a better option for computer science. I associate Geneseo more with humanities/liberal arts.

I know that wasn’t very helpful but there’s pros and cons for both. In a very general sense I’d say that Geneseo is more what you’re looking for socially, but Albany is probably better for computer science/engineering. Also more people have heard of it outside of NY.

Geneseo dropped its Computer Science program a couple of years ago because of budgetary pressures, but it’s excellent for other sciences like biology and physics. You may also want to take a look at Binghamton or Stony Brook for those fields.
