If you had to tell someone a unique aspect of George Mason University, what would it be?
How structured is Mason’s debate team? What is their food like? Does Mason have adequate residential halls and study rooms?
Is George Mason still a ‘commuter’ school or has it transitioned to residential? How is the campus’s ‘atmosphere’? What are the major disadvantages/cons of attending George Mason? What are the advantages/pros of attending?
The location. DC is such a rich place, and the fact that GMU is near there makes the learning experience better. You are minutes away from some of the most influential people and most valuable pieces of US history.
George Mason is one of only eleven schools to be recognized in the USNWR category, “Writing in the Disciplines,” and one of only four public universities.
Also, how academically strong is George Mason? What are its areas of specialty? I’m interested in majoring in Computer Science, Music Technology, Spanish, or Computer Information Systems. I’m aiming at a double major in Computer Science and Music Technology with a minor in Spanish (I’m a native speaker so it should be fairly easy).
