Acceptance Rate this year probably dropped to 35% im scared

@Sassygogo there was a HUGE surge in applicants this year because they went test optional so they’ll probably lower their acceptance rate to have the same amount of students as last year.
23% rise in applicants… And if they accept the same amount of students as they did last year it would drop below 35%
I think GW is trying to inflate its applications to lower its acceptance rate and look/rank more competitive.
@risingseniors I really hope that isn’t the case, but their stats are pretty indicative of it.
So when do you guys think they’re most likely to release then, since it probably isn’t tonight?
It’s definitely a school on the rise- building more housing, ranking #1 with internships, etc
@risingseniors You’re completely right. American is doing the same exact thing - with GW acceptance rate in the mid 40s, they need to come back down to American’s level after American dropped to 35 (but they dropped even more to 25 this year).
But whether it will drop below 35, I’m not sure. GW may not accept the same number of applicants as last year, they may accept more because GW really needs the money. They are having major budget problems.
