**George Washington Transfer 2011 Thread**

FA information was sent by email.

Did everyone receive their financial aid packet today? Because I didn’t get anything…

anyone know any good websites to search for scholarships? I really need some lol my parents make too much andd they never give me financial aid?

meritaid.com

@stiftree–i havent gotten a financial aid email or package yet either…but it may be because i have to fill out some extra forms because of different circumstances…

Nothing today in the mail…does anyone know if the letters have been mailed yet?

NVM…just saw on their Twitter that transfer packets were mailed yesterday and today. I should get mine tomorrow hopefully.

I was just accepted and would have to say that GW was very generous with their financial aid. I was just offered 48,000 without any loans! Anyone else receive packet yet?

Congrats rcm987! Where are you from, what are you majoring in, and what year are you entering as?

I’m from florida entering in as a junior and majoring in political science, you?

Gratz rcm987! What was your gpa when you applied? Seems like they offered you the presidential scholarship? Does your parents make a lot?

I am from NC, majoring in Biological Sciences, and entering as a Sophomore. Nothing in the mail today…hopefully tomorrow is the day!

i got my package today! are we supposed to get our financial aid package with it? because i didnt see any of that…

@isharmie the fin package i believe is emailed?

and where do you live ? Hopefully I get my package as well

so I called the financial aid office about not getting my financial aid package and apparently I was selected by fafsa for verification…
so now I have to submit copies of everything and fill out and fax a bunch of forms.

the frustrating part is that the financial aid counselor i talked to said that my financial aid package will take about 3-5 weeks AFTER everything is submitted.

when I told her my worries about the deadline for accepting enrollment to gwu coming up she advised me to send in the deposit for $800 and if i don’t like the financial aid package the only thing i would lose will be the deposit. ***?!

once all the paper work is processed i plan to call them and see if there’s anything else that could be done.

anyone else in this situation/or have been and know what to do?
gwu apparently doesn’t have a protocol for this situation.

@ellomeno–i live in northern va! im sure you’ll get it by tomm!
@stiftree–so they havent even made your financial aid package? i called the office about never getting mine (i never got an email) and they said that they did have one for me and so then i checked banweb.gwu.edu and it was there!

When do they need our deposit by? I have not received a package yet in the mail…

^ June 15h

btw How did everyone’s credit evaluation go? 10 of my credits(3 classes + phys ed) won’t transfer which sucks. However, now I bumped to sophomore status which guarantees me housing which doesn’t suck I guess.

Does anyone know if there is a way to appeal transfer credit because one of my classes pretty much matches the course discription of one of GWs classes so I’m not sure what the deal is.

xhongxkongx, I had a 3.67 at the time that I applied. GW awarded me the presidential, board of trustee’s scholarship, and another pretty hefty award. The board of trustees was the highest ($25,000). I would say that my parents do well, I was surprised when I looked at my package that they had offered me so much, wish it could of gone to someone who needed it a little more.

@ellomeno Did you get anything in the mail today? I did not…hopefully Monday is the day I’m getting worried.
