Hey guys I was accepted as transfer yesterday and i received a mail today from the financial aid office stating that I was bunch of forms like copies of taxes returns and w-2 forms etc…

did you guys submit any of that stuff when you applied?
I thought the only financial aid paper that was required when we applied was FAFSA and CSS profile…

now I’m freaking out that my financial aid package is going to delayed for even messed up…

did anyone else find out about scholorships on GW activity center website
when they uploaded the decision? if i dont see anything between the decision and financial
aid checklist, does that mean i didnt get any?? i cant wait to receive the actual package…

those forms are required for the css profile.

I sent in my signed copies of my parents tax returns(w2 too) and mine. I believe GWU lets you fax them to their office so try that so it gets there quicker.

Hi Yankee13, I actually found out I got in earlier this month after financial aid sent me an email regarding my award, but yesterday it was official on the status page. But still thank you and congrats to everyone! Is anyone majoring in political science?

Collegegrl4, I am majoring in political science. E-mail me if you would like, I would like to hear your plans and talk about some things regarding the major, if you do not mind. Jimlafferty816@yahoo.com

I’m from IL and will be pursuing anthro. I’m on the fence if I want to double major in international affairs or minor in political science. Politics and anthropology have been my two major interests for as long as I can remember, and I kind of feel like I’d be a fool to let the opportunity to study international affairs at GW pass me by. Career wise I fully intend to pursue something along the lines of international relations (which anthro does prepare for). I am planning on getting an MA at the very least (PhD is very possible). Any thoughts?

I was waitlisted for gwu too =/ Im waiting its the only place I want to go. I got accepted to sfstate, bradley, and Im waiting on USC the only place I want to go is gwu. I can believe they are making us wait that long they already gave a really late response to apps.

I’m thinking to find out what other community college credits they will accept and defer until the Spring. I already made plans to move to Austin this week and I have no info on financial aid. Maybe this way I will have a chance to plan this out. I can see how I like Austin and either go to UT or GW for Spring. This last minute stuff does not work for me. My life can not be a ping pong ball. To tell you the truth for them to wait until now for decisions is very disrespectful to all of us. They should allow us time to figure out financing and housing with ample time to think and digest all of this. Just my opinion…

Hey, I finally decided to sign up with College Confidential, and I’ve been following this thread (and the Georgetown one, haha) for almost a month now. I got accepted to GW (!!!), and like you, Ny27intx, I (was) a community college student–just got my associate of arts. I applied to Georgetown, as well, and at least managed to get wait-listed (not quite as good as acceptance, though! haha). Like you, I am definitely concerned about financial aid, and it seems as if this month has been the longest one of my life. I really hope to see that GW package in the mail tomorrow! I REALLY want to go to GW, but I’m trying not to fall in love with the place, lest I end up attending to my (academically decent, but not nearly as awesome as GW!) state school instead (if I don’t get enough fin. aid). I am very worried because I think I’m in the same situation as siftree–I don’t think I sent them copies of my W-2s and tax forms (I’m doing that first thing tomorrow morning!) even though I did the CSS Profile and FAFSA. So stressed right now. sigh These next couple weeks are going to be a pain…and part of me wonders if I should still wait it out for Georgetown…ugh.

Also, congratulations to those who got accepted! I probably have seen some of you on the facebook group, and you all seem to be awesome people…Gah, I really hope I can go to GW!

Nope, I was going to ask the same thing! Do you guys know if the financial aid information and transfer credit evaluation will both be included in the acceptance packages?

They said acceptance packages will be sent out this week so I doubt anybody has received one yet. I live like 20 minutes from the school so I’ll give a heads up when I receive it :D

As for financial aid, that will be sent via email.

I got 2/3rds of the COA covered by grants and scholarships. I got to say I’m very satisfied and actually a little surprised I got that much. Compared to other schools, GWU went well above my expectations and I’m very grateful!
