**George Washington Transfer 2011 Thread**

I got in!! Whoo! Cannot believe it! I look forward to hopefully meeting you guys!

@CSilverm congrats!!! Whats your major and where ate you from?

@yankee13-thank you so much!! I am from Oregon and I’m majoring in archaeology. I was accepted into the CCAS.

The wait is killing me…who else is still waiting?

@Yankee13 I am still waiting too where are you located?

@ellomeno NC…I really don’t think location means a thing though lol.

CSilverm, congrats! I think their arch program is awesome! I’m majoring in anthropology (it was very hard choosing from general anthro, archaeology, or biological anthro as my declared major).Their anthro department really sparked my interest for the Univeristy, and I’m very excited to study at GWU. Do you have a particular time period for archaeology that interests you?

Just to help. I received my packet on Monday and sent in my deposit and letter of intent so I can attain an email address and so on. I am excited and I am sure housing will work out for everyone, the same way admission has worked out. We had to wait it out, but we did and we are still intact! Let’s hold on and let the process happen. The real reason is if we are not in control of this, then we might as well give u control and do the things we can control!

So I got nothing in the mail today, but I called and they are going to send another one lol.

I got mine today and sent out the declaration of intent immediately. I can’t wait until I get my GW email. I hope it’s original and not with random numbers at the end!

Well I am continuing to be patient another day and I have yet to receive any mail from GW, i asked for an extension because, why should I have to pay by next week if I haven’t received my letter of intent or anything first class mail shouldn’t even take any longer than 3 days…

@ellomeno how do you know they mailed it first class?

I have a question which I’m not sure anyone on here will be able to answer but I’ll throw it out there anyway.

I have 61 credits but after transferring I’ll have about 53-56.

Does this mean I’ll be a sophomore at GW? Does this also mean I’ll be required to live on campus like other students and also forbidden to bring a vehicle on campus? Or are transfers the exception in these cases?

Class standing for housing is determined by the number of years spent in college…so you would be considered a junior.

@Yankee13 most colleges send first class mail, and So class standing determines your year? so even though someone has 50 credits been in school for two years are automatically a junior?

@ellomeno Just in regards to housing, but for academic standing they still would be sophomores.

ohhhh i see well I haven’t received my acceptance mail yet but i am guesstimating that I would have at-least 55 credits in I wonder if I would graduate in 2013 or 14’

@rubyshadesp3- thank you! That’s awesome you’re majoring in anthropology! I’m sure we’ll have some classes together then haha! I am interested in prehistoric archaeology. What attracted me to the GWU archaeology program in particular is their emphasis on both old world and new world archaeology, not to mention that they’re one out of only a few schools in the country that offer archaeology degrees. What about you?? What are you thinking of doing with your anthropology degree?

Weird, I just got an email saying I was admitted off the transfer wait list. The website still says “Under Review,” but who knows what that means.

@campaigner were you on the waitlist to begin with or was this random?
