George Washington University Transfer (Fall 2012)

Been trolling this for a while and thought I’d finally post :P

Just logged into the Application Status Check and apparently I’ve been waitlisted…

…But I’ve already been accepted to/enrolled at Cornell for the past month lol

So obv I’ll be saying no to a spot on the waitlist, so hopefully that’ll clear up some space for those of you stuck on it too!!

Good luck :)

Didn’t find out today, my app is apparently still under review.

I’ve been wait listed as well… Has anyone been rejected??

They said they’ll notify us in July, but when in July?!? Ughh…

For those of you that have been accepted and will not be attending, please send in your decisions as soon as possible, so that waitlisted ppl are notified faster… I hope this doesn’t happen again in July. Lol

Best of luck to everyone!

I have a growing suspicion that nobody was rejected. I wonder if the admissions office will tell us how many people are on the wait list?

That’s what I’m thinking as well…

What does “wait list is unranked” mean???

Accepted! Hopefully I will be attending - waiting for financial aid package as well. Congrats to everyone!

waitlisted!

Glad I’m not the only one confused by an ‘unranked’ wait list. Really not sure what that means.

I’m only familiar with unranked waitlists in terms of grad school, but I don’t know if undergrad is the same. For grad school, an unranked waitlist means they don’t have a preference for certain people on the waitlist, e.g. if a spot opens up, they aren’t going to automatically offer admission to “1,” “2,” and “3.” Sometimes they go through another round of admissions to choose the people to admit, sometimes they try to round out the class, sometimes it’s random, etc. An unranked waitlist is also handy for the school, because they don’t get calls everyday asking if so-and-so has moved up the waitlist.

Thank you for the explanation!

The real question is…has anyone been rejected?!

Does anyone know about national society of collegiate scholar (NSCS) for transfer students scholarship ?

I just got accepted to the School of Public Health!!! I still have to wait on financial aid too, but how exciting!! :)

I got waitlisted as well. I am going to make the assumption that they did not reject anyone…I will be making alternate plans for the Fall Semester of 2012. Bummer…

Accepted! I’m honestly really surprised, I was pretty doubtful about my chances. Congratulations to everyone, and best of luck to those still waiting/attending other schools! :)

hey has anyone not heard yet? my application status still says under review when it seems a lot of you have already heard…
thanks

OK. Waitlisted. I’m not sure whether to take this as a rejection or not. Does anyone know the chances of being excepted from the waitlist? It was frustrating enough waiting for their decision this month and now I have to wait until July.
Waitlisted at three colleges, excepted to two and denied at one. The frustrating thing about this is I could either be in DC, San Diego, New York, or Paris by august and I still don’t know.
Anyone have experience with this waitlist business?

So I think the deadline to submit the deposit is June 11…does anyone know if there is an extension for those of us who just received our decisions on Monday because we haven’t even received our acceptance package in the mail yet?

I just called about the deposit deadline and admissions said that the second round of transfers (those of us who just found out our decisions on Monday) won’t be expected to send our declaration of intent and enrollment deposit until June 22. Our acceptance packages were mailed on Tuesday so we should be receiving them within the next week.

Hope this helps for anyone else who was wondering.

Thanks GWgirl92 that gives me a bit of relief! I called two days ago telling them I couldn’t possibly make a decision by monday without my financial aid package. The lady told me that I had to email gwappeal.gwu.edu and ask for an extension…still no word back. Hoping they give us until the 22nd because otherwise that would so unfair - not our fault this took so long.
