George Washington University Transfer (Fall 2012)

I received an email telling me the decision was available under the Application Status Check.

Congrats to all of you!!! :)

Thanks! I also got an email about three hours ahead of time, telling me when to access the status check. I talked to a few other people who applied, and they don’t have decisions yet either. They were told either today or Monday…so hopefully everyone will hear soon!

I found out yesterday about my acceptance too!! So excited to attend in the fall! Good luck to everyone else!

About what time did you receive that email?
Im anxiously awaiting mine

I got mine around 4 about decisions being sent out at 6 but it was already posted at 5

Any applicants to the School of Public Health (exercise science in particular)? Still haven’t heard anything!

I got my email a bit before 3, and like tatash said, my decision was up around 5.

Sarey, my friend who applied there hasn’t heard anything either. I applied to CCAS at the suggestion of an advisor, but I’m planning to transfer to the School of Public Health. Are you going to major in exercise science? :)

Congrats to you all! It seems like GW is sending out decisions earlier than usual…sweet.

ShaylaK - Yep! That’s my hope. It worries me a bit because I have absolutely no idea how competitive the program is - I’ve heard that SPHHS has a really low transfer acceptance rate in general, but no idea how that relates to the exercise science program. I guess we’ll see soon, though! And congratulations to you and fingers crossed that your friend and I are classmates!

I haven’t received an email and online it still says my decision is under review. I’m transferring as a sophomore into the columbian college of arts and sciences. i have no idea of how competitive that is (hopefully not too much if at all). But i’m thinking they maybe sent out upperclassmen decisions first? keeping my fingers crossed! Congrats and good luck to everyone!

Accepted but not attending. Congrats to all who got in! :)

Sarey, I heard it was really competitive too. Apparently a lot of people who want to major in Public Health apply to the exercise science program, since they can’t apply directly to Public Helath, so it artificially inflates the numbers and makes it even harder to get accepted. That’s why I applied undecided to CCAS…figured I’d leave the spaces for those who really want exercise science!

Lostpatriot, not to be super discouraging, but I’m also going to be a sophomore. I think CCAS is less competitive than some of the other schools. I really have no idea how they’re notifying people though…it seems a bit odd.

Hey guys. I have applied to the CCAS as a sophomore and my portal still says “Under Review.” I wonder if they are sending out acceptances first, but I called twice today and both people said that they are just notifying people randomly…? I don’t understand why some people have been notified, but not others…and I’m kind of panicking.

Do you guys think that they are sending out acceptances first?
Does anyone know when they started notifying people?
Has anybody heard of anyone getting rejected or wait listed yet?

They may be doing it by college because I also applied to CCAS and have not heard back.

Maybe they’re doing it by school, but I applied to CCAS as well and I’ve already been accepted. Unless I’m a fluke!

GWgirl92, they might be sending out acceptances first? I’m not sure. Everyone I know of who got a decision on Thursday was accepted. Thursday was also the first day anybody I know of heard back. However, I had talked to them early last week and they said they would begin notifying transfer applicants in mid-late May, and continue through June. It seems like they anticipated the process being a bit drawn out. They also just accepted some freshman off the waitlist, so maybe they’re going back and forth? Finally, who knows how accurate this is, but one of my friends called and was told Wednesday for a decision date. I’m crossing my fingers for you all…I can’t imagine waiting this long. Good luck! :)

So I called today and the lady I spoke with said that only a portion of applicants have been notified and it is done on a rolling basis. She said that everyone should be notified by the end of May. Has anyone else called and heard anything different?

For those of you that have been accepted, when did you send in your completed applications? and when do you have to let GW know that you are for sure attending in the Fall?

I submitted the second part of my online application on March 12. All of my forms were in and my application was marked as complete on March 29.

June 11 is the postmark date for our enrollment form. I was directed to this website with my admission letter, so hopefully this will help you a bit!

Thanks ShaylaK! Hmm…I submitted mine around the same time. I’m not sure what the lady meant by “rolling basis” then…so weird. A guy who posted on the GW Admissions Facebook page said that an admissions person told him that people would find out Wednesday.

Did your friends, who weren’t notified on Thursday, find out anything today?

Congrats all you guys who admitted transfer Fall 2012.

I think admitted applicants are almost CCAS major, but I applied for School of Business.

Is there anyone who admitted from School of Business?

I knew the decision will be release by the end of may, but it is too hard to wait their notification.
