Does anyone have the GWU Transfer Site for Facebook?

Please post URL! Thanks!!

Nope, my friends have not heard anything yet. I don’t know what they mean by a rolling basis either…it seems like they just roll out randomly! I looked on that FB page and he also said the director said people with GPAs over 3.8 had been notified…yet one of my friends who was admitted doesn’t have over a 3.8. What a confusing process!

I also applied for transfer to the business school as an incoming junior. When I talked to the office in late April due to some transcript complications they said that they do a rolling basis, but every application is read no matter what. Rolling basis means (at least according to the lady I talked to) that those that submitted their applications earlier will be on the “top” of the pile of applications to look at when it is submitted for review by the board/committee. Thus, if you submitted your application closer to the April 1st deadline you would be lower in the pile? However like I said before every application is looked at and it seems to me that the admissions office tends to say conflicting things… Anyways I hope that helped!

-Of course, I could be completely wrong but I just wanted to give my 2 cents since that is what I was told on the phone.

Ohhh okay, that makes sense.

Thanks ShaylaK and shesaidbye!

When will the rest of us receive decision??

I think people are being told different things by the admissions office. Some people said that they were told that notifications would go out yesterday and today when they called. The last time I called, I was told that everyone would receive a decision by the end of this week and early next week.

Still nothing for me… haven’t had any of my emails returned, and the last time I called SPHHS no one answered and the voicemail was full. At least they must know I’m genuinely interested in GWU by now…

Same here. My emails have not been returned either and I call just about every day.

I am also applying to the Columbia School and have yet to hear back. I have contacted them several times via email and phone and, while always having received a reply/answer, the answers I get are quite conflicting. I just want to know! I am a student from Indiana that is currently attending the University of Toledo in Ohio and need to start planning if I am going to D.C. in the fall so I hope the decision comes soon!

ShaylaK (I believe it was you who said that you had a friend applying to SPHHS) - I just called again and was told that all transfer applicants should know their decisions within the next week. It’s a different notification process than for the other schools; instead of using a GWID to check your application status, the decision letter is just sent in an email, and then later by postage. Only admitted students are issued a GWID. If your friend is stressing out about this as much as I am, I thought it might help them out if you could forward this info along to them!

I think you may have been misinformed…

I received my GWID once they received my application.

Did you apply to the school of public health?

Hey guys I just called (like 30 seconds ago) and they said that all decisions will be given out by the end of May.

btw I received my GWID with my application as well

Just to clarify, what I said about the GWID only applies to school of public health applicants!

So I wonder if they have sent out anymore decisions since last Thursday. It seems like they sent out a portion of decisions last week and then just stopped for some reason?

Thanks sarey! I know it’s a completely different application process, but I’m not sure if she knows the letter only comes via email and postal mail. I’ll pass that along to her. I’m pretty sure she’s stressing out as much as you are!

As a side note, I got amazing financial aid from GWU today, so I’ll definitely be going there in the fall. Once you all get your acceptances (hopefully they are ALL acceptances), I’d love to get to know you all some more! I also read online that they are planning to house a lot of transfers in Lafayette next year, so we might be housemates. [Transfer student community to shift to Foggy Bottom - The GW Hatchet](http://www.gwhatchet.com/2012/05/21/transfer-student-community-to-shift-to-foggy-bottom/)

Just called (again) and the guy said that they are in fact sending decisions out on a rolling basis (meaning that, the earlier you sent in all of your application materials, the sooner you’ll get your decision). Their goal is to get all of the decisions out by the end of May at the latest. Everyone will get an email with the link to your decision and you have to notify GW on whether or not you’ll be attending by June 11.

Hey guys, for those who have gotten their financial aid… did that come via email, mail, or just in gweb?

Mine was just on Gweb, no email or anything. However, I called yesterday to inquire about needed documents, and I mentioned that I needed to get an estimated package fairly soon because of other schools’ deadlines. I think that’s why they put mine up. I was originally told transfers would have their financial aid at the end of next week, so I don’t know if everyone’s is up.

I think that they accepted the most qualified applicants last Thursday and are waiting to see how many of them accept their offer. Once they see how many of those accepted last week accept their offer, they will know how many spots they need to fill and then accept that amount of people. They are probably waiting until the last possible day (31st) to send out the rest of the decisions because they want to give the accepted transfers as much time as possible before calculating estimated numbers etc. I haven’t been accepted yet, and as of know I am going to BU Communications school…if I get into GW CCAS then I will be 50/50. Good luck to all
