What school is this for - and when do you receive the letter?
@Gt2017 Extended Waitlist for Georgetown College, just got the letter today
Awesome! It says you’ll know by June 30 or before? Do you have to agree to stay on the list? I wonder how many are on the EWL. What school are you applying to?
Sorry - I see you applied to the GT college.
@Gt2017 I agreed to stay on the EWL. I honestly wasn’t expecting to make it this far…so might as well take my chances. If not I’ll be going to Emory in the fall.
@ChanceMe1110 did you mind if I ask what your stats are?
And where you are located?
Has any international student received anything? Are we suppossed to get a letter or an email?
Im International and I haven’t received anything at all
@Melissazaki I’m from Massachusetts. 3.8 GPA, 1540 SAT. 780 Lit, 790 BioM. I have a bunch of Music related ECs and some leadership positions, etc.
Did you only take two SAT II exams?
has anyone gotten an acceptance through mail
I got the extended waitlist.
Does anyone have statistics about how many get it and how many get accepted?
In case this helps anyone, my child received a letter in the mail today being offered to be put on the extended waitlist (applied to Georgetown College). The letter states a final decision will be provided by June 30th. Letter states a very small number of students were offered extended waitlist…Stats were basically - 1530 SAT, 4.1 WGPA (school doesn’t unweight GPA), lots of ECs and a 790 US History SAT II, 760 Bio SAT II, and a 700 Math I SAT II. Having been accepted to close 2nd choice college (in fact may be moving into first position) and not wanting to wait any longer for a decision, my child will decline…Good luck to others!
has anybody gotten acceptances through the mail yet?
Having been through this with my kid, i know that only about 100 kids worldwide are put on the extended waitlist and – at least in past years – some kids did make it off. But there are downsides…and one is the inability to fully embrace the college where you’ve already deposited.
Anybody else get extended waitlist? Will you guys be accepting your spot or moving on? I accepted, but waiting another month and a half really sucks considering I applied early action and have been waiting since November 1st. Completely worth it though if I get in.
@SouthernHope Exactly, which is why my child decided to decline extended waitlist offered. My child was fortunate enough to get off waitlist at close 2nd choice college and is completely embracing that school. Unlikely C will be that extraordinarily lucky to get off of two highly selective school’s waitlists, so is moving on…
If it’s a lottery pick I can see a student staying on, but I agree with @Beyondhope that if my DD already got into their close second school I would have them move on and get ready for a great experience.
Our mail arrives really late. So, idk. But, anybody out there get an outright acceptance via regular mail today?
