Really hope theyre going to send some acceptances through the mail since it doesnt seem like they called many people
Also can u share stats? @anyone23
34 ACT, 3.9 GPA, SAT II’s all 750+ (sent 3), lots of science based extracurriculars and leadership positions. Showed true interest in NHS. Male from Connecticut. @parisgeller
Do most people that get off the waitlist get called first? And are we guaranteed decisions by tomorrow?
Based on the posts, it seems like it. But, also seems odd that there are still only 2 people on this thread who have indicated that they have gotten in (and only 1 accept)… and none on CC into SFS or Business School. No idea if we’ll get an email or if we wait for regular mail like we did in March. And if so, is it post marked 5/15?
I know… guess SFS doesn’t have much spot left this year? (like last year’s acceptance rate from the waitlist was 0%).
That is my guess as well . I can’t imagine they are going to send letters of admission when they have been calling some people already .
SFS is over enrolled this year
I think we’ll receive letters either today or in the next few days - either with rejection or invite to go to extended waitlist
@Gt2017 Is MSB full too? The acceptance rate was 0% and 1% the last two years.
MSB was not full - had a few slots - but my guess is they’ve gone to waitlist kids - and are taken now
Where are you folks giving up spots if you get into Georgetown and choose to go?
@nathancard I gave up my spot at Brown
@Gt2017 last year when SFS had 0 spots they let waitlisters know by 5/9 that they were not giving up spots on the waitlist. Until we get official letters either way, don’t give up.
Im just looking at gtowns facebook group and the amount of members has barely changed though so it doesnt seem like theyve given a ton of acceptances or anything…
@ivyaf123 @anyone23 @ryanordy88 Congrats again to your acceptance and leap from the waitlist. There’s a lot of speculation on this thread as to why so few folks are getting calls before offers, and some think it may be that calls are going to more special circumstances. Can any of you share if you have a special circumstance that may warrant a call vs. an assumption that you’d attend if offered a spot? Financial need? Location? Do they have reason to think you may be choosing from another elite college? Legacy? Just curious if there is reasonable hope for those who haven’t received calls yet …
I think 2 of the 3 you mention above declined their offer. We may not hear back from them because why would they be hanging around this forum if they selected another school? I had also heard that they built a new dorm at GT - so wouldn’t they have a few more spaces this year?
This waiting is tough. Wish there was a better way
you never know @WLGT2021 … someone posted on this year’s GTown waitlist thread about their acceptance in the regular round! I think for some the dialogue is still interesting, but you’re right, we may not hear. Just trying to put a little logic in play : )
@betwixt which school are you waiting to hear from?
The college … and you?
