So I got wait-listed at SFS. Anyone out there in the same boat, you're not alone!

Anything I can do to try and get myself in? Maybe another visit? Should I get more recommendations?

Waitlisted at SFS too. Disappointed. Perfect grades, darn near perfect test scores, studied at Georgetown last summer, one of the best in the world at my EC… don’t know what I could have done differently.

I think we’ll just need a bit of luck.

Yeah, I have pretty good scores, perfect grades with a ridiculously challenging load, 65 college dual-enrollment credits, I applied for Chemistry (what I imagine is an under represented major), submitted a research proposal…the list goes on.

I guess the worst part (in my mind) is that BOTH of my parents went to Georgetown undergrad.

Not what I was expecting, to say the least.

Waitlisted too…
I’m not too familiar with the waitlist procedure. So we can appeal and send them stuff to make them notice us? And when do they let us know if we got off the list or not?

They say they’ll let us know their second (or in my case third because of differed EA) decision by May 15.

Anyone have any answers for sending in additional materials>

Waitlist :(

BOO! waitlist! :(

I was waitlisted as well, which makes my college decision that much more difficult. Georgetown is definitely my top choice, but I’ve also gotten into some other good schools (UVa, UW). I’m just torn at this point, especially with financial assistance. I mean if gtown accepts me off the waitlist but doesn’t offer me anything, it’s safe to say I won’t be able to attend. =[

Waitlisted too. Anyone know who we should send send additional materials to?

Waitlisted SFS 2 =/

Very upset D. Waitlist despite perfect GPA (11 APs, all 5s), perfect SATIIs, perfect ACT, deep, strong ECs, excellent recommendations, good interview, exhibited interest, etc. I just don’t understand. She has been accepted to other highly selective schools using related essays, so her application was strong to go with the other stuff. Georgetown was on the top of her list. Just heartbreaking for her. So hard to read the accepted students list and think all my Ds hard work should have landed her there.

Seriously, did they admit anyone this year…haha

momof2kids,

Son has exact same situation, except one of his good friends with far less stat’s got in EA (28 ACT ish, not perfect grades), but was a URM. He is so bummed that he worked hard to accomplish those things, and because he is not a URM, he didn’t get the same consideration. Tough lesson in life to learn. Still, I know that he will end up in the place he was meant to be.

Personally, I’m kind of proud to be on the wait list. I was rejected to Vanderbilt, UVa, and UNC, so I was expecting a rejection letter. I have a 4.32 GPA and 29 ACT. I am ranked 11 in my class of 359. My extracurriculars are good, but I am still pleasantly surprised because the competition is fierce!

Sorry you were disappointed too, SDmom2. It’s hard. I told my white, middle class daughter that she is up to bat with two strikes already against her. She has had great support and opportunities too that have likely worked in her favor. I just wish it were a level playing field for all. Our kids will land well. D got an acceptance today to a more selective school - go figure! Good luck to your S.

Bump. Anyone else joining this list?

im waitlisted tooo
im dying to find out whether I get in or nottt, this whole process has been so stressful but i really love georgetown and hope it works out for the best…

I was also waitlisted at SFS, but I still have hope. I sent in a few things I think will help my case, so there’s nothing left to do but enjoy the rest of senior year and wait for may 15 to roll around.
