So we haven’t actually been accepted yet? I thought that the call about the interest and then them e-mailing me my financial aid basically meant I had gotten off the waitlist. Ooooppsss.

That’s what I thought as well.

Hm I’m just super confused now. I mean, I’m assuming it’s a positive thing that they bothered to call us and make the financial aid package…it’s just not “official” yet?

Well I think for NHS (since that’s where we both applied to) they are finalizing everything so they wanted to make sure the people they were planning on accepting were still interested. If not they could give it to someone else because most of the other colleges (at Georgetown) started calling people last week and NHS is the only one that waited this late.

I am sooo confused!! I thought that the call meant I got off the waitlist! I didn’t bother asking since it seemed so obvious. Is this not actually an acceptance? :(

By the way, do you think the official letters have gone out yet?

i’m not sure, i got the call too but she definitely said she’ll call back after she tells the committee about my strong interest and stuff… she did mention the financial aid and everything, and i think this means that we are all very very close to getting off the waitlist, but it’s just technically not “official.” official acceptance would be after she brings it to the committee and actually calls us back or something saying congratulations you are admitted… i think some people got to this part but when my person called she didn’t say anything about official acceptance, just that she has my interest level and financial aid status confirmed, and that i should be hearing back from her pretty soon. these are my thoughts though, i’m confused too!
my person said they are mailing their last admission letters this friday…

I basically got this call from an admission officer a couple of days ago and then I had a thought about it and then I emailed her back saying I would love to come to Gtown so she replied saying the comittee had approved my admission to the uni…‘Congratulations’. however I am a foreign student so it could be slightly different.

FLL is the faculty of language and linguistics. I got the call around 8ish (i don’t know, i was watching NCIS so whenever that comes on). At first i thought it was just a ‘check your interest’ call but when I told him that Georgetown was still my first choice and I would accept the offer without a doubt, he said “well then welcome to the class of 2014,” and thus the waterworks began

i suggest you call/contact them and make SURE they know that you are interested

vonccf where do you live?

I live just outside of London

I got the official acceptance call today so haha :D

Have any people from California heard from the regular College, and through what means?

my daughter received a postcard in the mail weeks ago, asking if she was still interested. This was not the card that came with her official waitlist decision, this was a SECOND card that came out around the end of April. She sent that back saying Yes, she was still interested. As of right now she has not had any phone call.

An e-mail to the admissions office earlier in the week said they were working hard to get the waitlist decisions out by the 15th.

Does this sound favorable for my daughter or should we just not get our hopes up?

so basically, if you didn’t even get a phone call or email…
your basically not going to get accepted?

Feels that way…

Man this sucks.

I got the same call that a lot of you got asking if I was still interested. This morning I just got a call saying I was in. Good luck to everyone.

i have yet to hear anything.

I got my call on tuesday, originally I though it was a confirmation of interest, but then he told me I was admitted to the class of 2014. He also told me there were very few spots available, but I hope everyone gets in if it’s their first choice!

Well, I guess that’s it. Not even a courtesy “sorry” email or something. Thanks GT, for making me wait, breaking my heart, and not giving a damn.

I’m sincerely happy for the people who got in though. Enjoy it because you deserve it, guys. <3

So I haven’t gotten any calls or emails, no nuthin’. But what I DID do was send GU my 3rd quarter grades and a letter of continued interest. I haven’t heard back yet, but no one is even supposed to yet. I think you guys just need to not get so caught up in this… the letter that GU sent to its waitlisters specifically said “We will mail your decision by May 15th.” This means they sent it out saturday, and you a should be getting a letter by wednesday depending on where you live. You’ll get something no matter what; a college is not going to just ignore you if you don’t make it and NOT contact you. People who were called HAD to be because they’re international, mostly. Good luck erbody!
