hello everyone~
I am a international student who really wants to go to Georgetown SFS!
I was wait listed and was wondering if anyone know when the office will decide.
I just got a wait list confirmation mail yesterday and it said that decisions will be mailed by may 15th. Is there any chance it will come out faster?
And one more question!
I sent a letter to the regional admission officer but did not get a reply....
I am very nervous whether he got my mail or not. Is it normal for admission officers to not reply? (some of my friends said that they usually don't but I don't know for sure....)

Hey hotspurs! Last year I heard they began calling people soon during the first week of May! I was also placed on the waiting list and hope I get in. I applied to the college. Did you send in additional information, letters of rec? Good luck to you!

Hey BoomerV
I just sent my letter and updated resume! Do the office call international students too?
I heard that SFS students are contacted the last… dont know for sure though…
I guess now I just have to hope for the best…
Good luck to you too!!

Hey hotspur. I am in exactly the same position as you. I hope we both get in :)

I was put on the waiting list too – last year a few people began to hear as early as May 4th or 5th

Best of luck to everyone! Hopefully we’ll all see each other there in September!

I was put on waitlist last year and didn’t hear back from them till July 21st. But I finally got in. lol

Good luck everyone!

Georgetown takes very, very few off the waitlist. Good Luck to all!

Anyone heard back yet?

I believe last year the first results were given on the 8th, and in 2010 first results came May 4th, overall people begin hearing the Tuesday or Wednesday of the second week of May. People will probably begin hearing today or tomorrow

My college counselor at school was at a college session today with Georgetown and 4 other schools, so she got to talk to a representative from there. The person said that they’re sending out the first wave of letters this week, but they use snail mail so we might not get it for a new more days. Also crossing my fingers for SFS! Just got off Vanderbilt’s waitlist (and told them so) so hopefully I have a shot? Hope we all get in!

I got into Georgetown off the wait list last year and they called early May. Good luck!

@irishsson4 How hard did you push for the spot? Like did you send a letter of interest, updated grades/resume etc? I’m just trying to gauge how likely it is for me to get off…

I did all the things you mentioned. I’m on the waitlist for McDonough and so fingers crossed.

anyone heard yet? Iam getting a bit anxious… I’ve heard quite a lot of schools have given out decisions to wail list students…

Does anyone know when Georgetown is sending out the first wave of waitlist decisions or if they already have?

Someone I know got off the waitlist I think today

Aww man, as May 15 is approaching I’m losing more hope. Reading past years’ waitlist threads, it seems most people got called and then were admitted. Today I got a call from a DC area code but it was just a dang sales call.

Is anybody sure if they send out the letters in the mail or call?

Well it /should/ be mail. (See my prior comment.) If they call too I’ll be supplementary.
